Somec Group among the most climate-conscious companies

Corriere della Sera, Pianeta 2030 and Statista – a company specializing in market research, ranking and analysis of company data – have released the ranking of the “Companies most attentive to the climate”, the Italian companies that have reduced the ratio between their carbon emissions the most CO2 and turnover. In particular, the Group obtained recognition in the “Plant engineering and construction” category.

The research examined over 600 companies, the data collected was aggregated and the rate of reduction in emissions intensity between 2020 and 2022 was calculated for each company.

The analysis was based on direct emissions (so-called Scope 1: greenhouse gas emissions from sources that are owned or controlled by the company, for example the use of fuels for heating and for the car fleet and refrigerant gases) and indirect (Scope 2: greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the generation of purchased electricity, heating, cooling and steam consumed by the company).

This important recognition rewards the strategies implemented to reduce the impact on the environment, a commitment that Somec will continue to pursue with conviction and increasingly incisive measures.
