Somec S.p.A. has announced the acquisition of new contracts with a total value of €65.5 million, including €16 million in optional components, for its Horizons division, specializing in engineered systems for naval architectures and civil façades.
The contracts were signed with three leading European shipyards located in Finland, Germany, and Italy and cover the construction of seven new cruise ships for four international shipowners. Two of these vessels are currently optional.
The Horizons division will deliver innovative solutions, including: turnkey balcony systems, windows and vertical sliding systems for cabins and glazing for the upper decks at the bow, equipped with specialized windbreaks.
Additionally, Somec reinforces its commitment to innovation and sustainability by introducing newly designed sliding windows, offering exceptional mechanical resistance and thermal insulation performance.
The delivery of these vessels is scheduled between June 2027 and mid-2030, while the economic impact of these contracts will span from the second half of 2025 to the first half of 2029.
